Do you enjoy taking photographs? Are you uncertain about places to go or subjects to photograph? Would you prefer to be part of a sociable group of photographers? If the answer is yes, then the Stroll with a Camera is the group for you.
This group meets to take a short urban or rural stroll through locations that present opportunities to photograph a wide range of subjects. We are a friendly, sociable group and participants are offered photographic advice if required. You don’t need a fancy camera or lots of photographic experience, a camera on a phone is quite acceptable.
The Stroll Group normally meets on the last Tuesday of the month. This is an open group, any member of SEL u3a who wants to take photographs can join us.
The photography is more important than the distance covered and we sometimes meet up at a particular venue and take pictures so the actual stroll will be minimal.
How the group runs
Strolls are organised and led by members of the group, so we are always looking for volunteers. If you would like to help, please send an email to the convenor at the top of this page and one of the team will get in touch.
We stay in touch by email, our private Facebook group "Senior Snappers" and through our Flickr site. Photographs taken by members can be seen at www.flickr.com/photos/u3aselondon.
If you would like to join the group mailing list to keep up with the latest news and details of future Strolls please send an email quoting your SEL u3a membership number to Roger Mead.
There is a second photography group that meets monthly and shares photographs and learns about photography techniques: see Photography.
