Any member wishing to start a new group should first contact our Groups Coordinator - Brenda Lobo Group Coordinator u3aselenquiry@gmail.com  - to agree basic principles, such as day, time etc to avoid clashes with other activities.

The Role and Responsibilities of the Convenor will be explained and the level of interest, possible existing similar groups and the most appropriate venue will be discussed. To gauge the level of interest in a new group a short notice can be placed in the weekly news email.

If no financial outlay is involved, the Group Coordinator can give the go ahead and inform the Committee at its next meeting. If however there is a  financial outlay, it must be approved by the Committee before starting up.

Then a short description of the activity, time and place and any fees to be made by the Convenor and sent to the Groups Coordinator who will include it on Beacon and also publish it on to the U3A Website.

After this the Convenor takes responsibility for the group and can advertise it on the weekly newsletter to see level of interest and to take contact details from prospective members for the group. 

The Group Coordinator will continue to help and advise and be as supportive as needed.
