This recently formed group has been very successful. The first meeting this term is Tuesday 6th January 2026. The group will then meet every Tuesday.   Members of the group find that the discussions are a good way of understanding in more detail the events taking place in the world around us. By getting involved in a discussion you benefit by hearing what others have to contribute. 

Subjects for discussion are taken from the news and suggestions by group members and are chosen by the chair for the meeting.  The list of subjects is circulated by email before the meeting with links to news stories and background information which might inform the discussion. In the last few months we have been talking about the economy, the situation in the Middle East, the NHS, crime and law and order, the state of the water industry, as well as political changes in America and the impact on world order.
